Each time a game was played tokens were earned helping to ensure that an additional $50,000 would be added on to the guaranteed $100,000, which was part of “The Giveback.” Publishers Clearing House also ran a direct mail campaign that donated $50,000 to St. Jude. “This was one of the most exciting years for ‘The Giveback’ with increased audience engagement across digital properties and channels,” said Deborah Holland, EVP for Publishers Clearing House. “Our fans told us how important this cause is to them so we decided to expand our relationship with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and ensure an even bigger donation this year. We look forward to continuing our relationship with this organization that helps so many in need.” The 2014 Giveback event and direct mail promotion guaranteed a combined $150,000 gift for St. Jude, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. This year PCH encouraged its loyal players and Facebook fans to participate in increasing the amount of the donation. The more visitors played on PCH.com, PCHGames.com, PCHSearchandWin.com and PCHLotto.com from Oct. 21 – Nov. 4 and earned tokens, the more they helped give back to St. Jude – to the tune of an additional $50,000. Players also entered daily for a chance to win one of five prizes valued at $1,000.
