ATLANTA - Nov. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta is honored to have Jack Cay host the third annual Second Century Breakfast on March 3, 2015 at the Piedmont Driving Club. As president of Palmer & Cay, Cay is a true testament to the importance of investing in girls.

Cay has served as host for three consecutive years and fulfills the organization’s mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character that make the world a better place by devoting his time and resources. Through his commitment and other Second Century Circle members and businesses, this circle has raised over $500,000 since2013. This response has allowed Girl Scouts to provide programing and financial support to over 10,000 local girls.

Investing in girls produces the single greatest return on a nation's investment, yet only 6% of all philanthropic dollars are dedicated to girl programming. Investing in Girl Scouts is a commitment to ensuring every girl reaches her fullest potential

“Positioning girls as a priority is very important to me. As a father of two Girl Scouts and a member of the Second Century Circle, I believe we will not be as successful as we can be if girls are not allowed to reach their potential and take leadership roles in their communities, the workplace, and government,” said Cay.

The Cay family’s long standing history with Girl Scouts dates back to the 1940’s. Jack Cay’s grandfather helped the birthplace of Girl Scouting in Savannah, secure insurance. Later in the 1970’s, Girl Scouts of the USA reached out to the Cay family, resulting in Palmer & Cay creating a national insurance program for all Girl Scout councils.

Cay states “I am proud to be a part of Girl Scouts and the Second Century Circle. As we enter the next 100 years of Girl Scouting, the Second Century breakfast pulls together community leaders to celebrate the hard work that our volunteers and employees put in every day to serve over 43,000 girls.”

Involved in a number of community organizations, Cay currently serves as a board member for Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, is on the Foundation Board for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and is a board member of the Georgia Nature Conservancy.  He and his wife, Erin, live in Atlanta with their three children.
