The Greater Philadelphia Pet Expo Returns January 9-11, 2015!

PHILADELPHIA - Nov. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- The Greater Philadelphia Pet Expo returns on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 9, 10 and 11, 2015 with fur flying new entertainment, dog sporting competitions and educational acts - that will amaze spectators at any age!

The annual pet expo will be held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center for the 3-day event. The Pet Expo is designed to educate and entertain the public about the wonderful world of pets. Featuring many pet vendors, educational and entertaining performances, special attractions, hands-on-petting zoo, pet adoptions, and outstanding shopping for pet lovers and their pets.  Many of the vendors at the expo feature their new products and services you don’t see every day in regular pet stores!

The event is expected to draw over 10,000 attendees over the weekend and pet owners can even bring their well-behaved leashed dogs to the expo.  Over 100 vendors and many area rescue groups with adoptable pets will be on hand.  Some of this year’s highlights are:

·      NEW! Flyball Tournament by Hard Drive Flyball Club!The ultimate relay race for dogs! Flyball is one of the fastest dog sports and comprised of dog teams. Fur flying fun – dogs racing by in a blur  – pure excitement!  Spectators will be cheering in disbelief at the speed, precision and teamwork that is FLYball!  (This is the first time a Flyball tournament is being held at a Family Pet Show – not to be missed!)

·      NEW! Gail Mirabella and The Dynamo Dogs Variety Act! You can teach your old do new tricks – these veteran-performing dogs will knock the spectators socks off with their Trick Dog Show Routine, Frisbee Dog Acrobatics and dynamite performances! Gail and her canine friends will wow the crowd as they do all over the country.

·      Rainforest Reptile Show – an exciting, fascinating adventure through the rare and endangered reptile world! Many exotic reptiles will be at the show for kids and adults alike to learn about.

·      Feline agility – Yes you read that right! Think dog agility on a cat’s term - somekitties take their sweet time – and other cats go right through the agility course!

·      The Delco Bird Clubwill be there various species of their birds and to provide information on pet care, diet and information on the birds' natural habitat.

·       Joy Freedman – dog behavior expert whostudied with The National Institute of Dog Training and has been changing the behavior of dogs and their owners ever since. Answering dog owner’s questions all weekend at the pet expo. Joy was also named one of Baltimore’s Best Dog trainers by Baltimore Magazine and was featured on Cesar Milan’s Dog Whisperer on National Geographic. – Sunday only.

In addition attendees will enjoy a petting zoo, pony rides, learn about and meet Alpacas, angora rabbits, and other unusual and exotic animals.

Guests can participate with their purebred dog in the Parade of Breeds and even have their dogs tested for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Award (CGC).  CGC testing is being done on Sunday and is a great way to show off your dog’s good behavior and get a certificate saying so.

The Greater Philadelphia Pet Expo will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 4pm to 9pm (which is Family Night and kids 12 and under are admitted FREE!), Saturday, January 10, from 10 am to 7 pm and on Sunday, January, 11, from 10 am to 5pm. Admission is $12.00 adult and $5 children (ages 11 and under), 3 and under are admitted Free.
