Lipton Trophy Pursuit Race presented by Old Mutual - Race Report

CAUSEWAY BAY, Hong Kong - Nov. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- A total of 47 boats started the race in front of Kellett island, on staggered start times according to their RHKATI ratings. All 47 recorded a finish, with Marc Castagnet’s Dragon Celine taking an an early lead on which she built throughout the race, finishing within seconds of the 1630hrs target time, over 5 minutes ahead of Frank van Kempen’s second placed Etchells.

It was a good day for the Etchells, claiming 2^nd to 7^th place with Big Boat, Ambush in 8^th, with the day serving as a great warm up for Sunday’s Around the Island Race.

With no protests arising from the afternoon’s racing, an early prizegiving was held, lubricated by Jax Coco and Peroni Beer, with prizes sponsored by Mount Gay Rum and Thomas Pink.
