Calabasas Dental Institute donates record number of Halloween candy to Operation Gratitude

Nov. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- CALABASAS, Calif. — Thanks to overwhelming response from the Calabasas and surrounding communities, the Calabasas Dental Institute has collected a record-breaking amount of Halloween candy for its annual buyback event to benefit Operation Gratitude.

“We had so many people from the community dropping off candy, we literally ran out of space,” Dr. Greg Rubin said. “We were thrilled to see the neighborhood coming out to support our troops overseas.”

More than 500 pounds of candy were dropped off from local businesses, organizations and schools, filling the hallways of the Calabasas Dental Institute.

Elementary school students also wrote appreciation letters, which will be mailed to the troops along with the candy items.

“Hopefully, the letters written by these students will help put a smile on the troops’ faces and let them know how much we appreciate them and that they are in our thoughts and prayers.”
