PODS® of Houston helps fill holiday stockings at Operation Stocking Stuffer

HOUSTON - Nov. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- To help spread the holiday cheer to thousands of children in need, PODS of Houston will be partnering with the Houston Fire Department for its major Operation Stocking Stuffer toy drive this holiday season. PODS of Houston has donated nine safe and secure PODScontainers to be placed at various Houston Fire Department locations throughout the greater Houston area, encouraging residents to drop off a new, unwrapped toy from Monday, Nov. 17, through Wednesday, Dec.17.

PODS of Houston has partnered with Operation Stocking Stuffer since 2012, helping collect over 300,000 toys last year. Utilizing the PODS containers as a satellite warehouse allows the fire department to collect toy donations throughout the Houston area and increase the amount of families they help during the holidays.

“PODS’ role in Operation Stocking Stuffer could not be more crucial,” explains Paul Box with the Houston Fire Department Public Affairs Office. “By using a PODS container, our team members, while out on their toy runs, can save valuable time and gas by going directly to the station with a PODS container in their area.”

The toy giveaway will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 23, at the New Light Christian Center, located at 7317 E. Houston Rd., beginning at 8 a.m.

“PODS looks forward to partnering with the Houston Fire Department and Operation Stocking Stuffer and seeing the number of donations increase each year,” said PODS of Houston president, Larry Sledge. “PODS is here to make sure the collection and distribution of toys to the youth in Houston is as easy as possible.”
