Make your holidays more meaningful on Family Volunteer Day!

DALLAS - Nov. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- Create a lasting bond with your family and transform your community on Family Volunteer Day. The Volunteer Center of North Texas is working with Wee Volunteer, Dallas Child, and Communities Foundation of Texas to organize 12 projects with 12 nonprofits. There are 250 volunteer slots available, with a wide range of education and volunteer opportunities.

At 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 22, begin the holiday season in the most meaningful way by spending an hour making a difference in the lives of the needy. Feed the homeless, support Dallas children in need, work with a music outreach program, or improve your community through other available opportunities. Families will work directly with one of the participating nonprofits.

Families have the best shot at making the biggest impact. An hour of a volunteer’s time is worth $24 – imagine how many lives would be changed with that amount quadrupled. Families will get a behind-the-scenes looks at these nonprofits, meet the staff who change lives every day, and work directly with successful programs that impact North Texans.

“Volunteering is a great benefit to an individual, and involving family creates a lasting bond to each other and the community,” Volunteer Center CEO Tammy Richards said. “We can’t wait to see all of the families who support transforming their community and making lasting change.”
