Fort Harrison’s Wine and Chocolate Soiree Benefits My Hope Chest

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Nov. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- On Sunday the 16^th of November, members of the Clearwater community will gather at the Fort Harrison to raise funds and awareness for My Hope Chest, a charity that funds reconstructive surgery for women who have battled breast cancer. Guests will be treated to a wine and chocolate tasting from some of the world’s best chocolatiers and most popular vineyards. The event is from 1 – 4 pm.

         My Hope Chest was founded in 2003 by Alisa Savoretti, a former Las Vegas Showgirl who found herself struck with breast cancer – she was 38 and uninsured. After a mastectomy and 5 months of treatment and chemotherapy, Miss. Savoretti was back on stage, billing herself as the “Lopsided Showgirl” and rebuilding her life. In living her own experience, Ms. Savoretti realized that there was a huge gap in treatment that existed for uninsured women.

         With the help of members of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Ms. Savoretti founded My Hope Chest as a 501c3 in December of 2003. It is the only national breast reconstruction organization that directly assists uninsured and under insured women to complete the final stage of their healing process.
