Torch & Laurel joins The Congress of Future Medical Leaders to Celebrate High Achieving Students

WASHINGTON - Nov. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Over 5000 high-achieving high school students will participate in The Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Washington, DC from November 14-16. The Congress of Future Medical Leaders is a yearly conference for high school students interested in medicine, that provides prospective medical students with resources, networks, and direction for studying medicine in college.

At the event, attendees will also be inducted into The Society of Torch & Laurel, an honors program for high-achieving high school students, which provides students and their families with the vital tools to successfully transition to college.  The program offers its scholars $100,000 in scholarships, mentorship opportunities with college honors students as well as guidance on the college admissions and acceptance process.

Marie Mimiaga, Senior Manager at The Society of Torch & Laurel noted that the partnership between Torch & Laurel and the Congress of Future Medical Leaders provides great opportunities for Congress attendees. “These students are among the best and brightest in the US,” Mimiaga said. “Most just need additional guidance to be equipped for college and their medical careers, and we’re pleased to provide that support.”
