Tiger Eye Sensor Publishes Podcasts on Innovative Wearable Personal Security Device

Founder and President CJ Scarlet, subject of the audio interviews, provides listeners with information on the company origins, the technology behind TESS, and shares her personal story about surviving sexual assault that contributed to her conceptualizing Tiger Eye Sensor, Inc. and TESS.

“As a woman, I was tired of feeling afraid all the time, and as a criminal justice expert I was tired of dealing with crime after it occurred,” Scarlet says in the podcast “Tiger Eye Origins” adding, “So I decided to do something to keep it from happening at all.”

Scarlet goes on in the roughly three-minute interview to discuss the founding of her company and development of TESS, a small, hands-free, wearable personal security device that activates when the wearer calls out for help.

TESS was developed to help address the problem of violent crimes which occur every 26 seconds, with one of every three women being assaulted in their lifetime and many assaults going unreported due to a lack of evidence.

Before launching Tiger Eye Sensor, Inc. and developing TESS, Scarlet ran a child advocacy center for abused children and served as Director of Victims Issues for the NC Attorney General’s Office, where she implemented the nation’s first statewide victim notification system. She is a former U.S. Marine and holds a master’s degree with an emphasis on Human Violence and is an expert on crime victim issues and technology.
