Nov. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- ·    Siemens more than doubles the number of sponsored students from 40 to 84.

·    This sponsorship secures employment for graduates at Siemens.

·    Siemens remains committed to local skills development and job creation in Saudi Arabia.

Siemens in Saudi Arabia recently signed a contract to train and employ additional 84 students from the Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic (SPSP). This follows the contract, signed in 2012, to sponsor 40 students who are graduating this year. The successful vocational graduates will be employed in Siemens manufacturing and service operations in Saudi Arabia.

SPSP was established with the support of the Saudi government to develop skills and provide job opportunities to young Saudi nationals in the petroleum services industry. It combines theory with company specific job requirements in fields such as engineering operations, electrical technology and mechanical technology. The petroleum services industry deploys advanced technologies in oil exploration and production and its continued growth presents the ideal opportunity for cooperation with companies like Siemens.

Arja Talakar, Chief Executive Officer of Siemens in Saudi Arabia said, “We are proud to continue this fruitful partnership with SPSP. Siemens will sponsor 84 students over the next two years – doubling the number from 2012. Together with our local shareholder and partner, E.A. Juffali and Brothers, we shall continue to demonstrate our commitment towards local talent development in Saudi Arabia.”

Commenting on the occasion, SPSP Executive Director, Mr. Abdullah M. Al-Yami said, “Our goal at SPSP is to work collaboratively and in partnership with industry to provide the highest quality training programs for young Saudis to enable them to be employed in the petroleum services industry.“

The sustainable development of local human resources is a key success factor for Siemens in Saudi Arabia. With more than 80 years of activities in the Kingdom, Siemens continues its commitment to localization and is well-positioned to act especially in the fields of electrification, automation and digitalization.
