Musical Zu Releases New Song and Video “Ur Not Alone,” an Ode to the Ebola Epidemic

Philadelphia, PA (October 11, 2014)- Sometimes music is the only medicine the heart and soul needs. Cultured R&B Zambian/American songstress, Musical Zu, brings you a soft, heart felt anthem as she teams up with her Zambian and American friends to create “Ur Not Alone,” a gripping song and visual component to her “Every Breath of Life Assured,” campaign to raise awareness to the widespread Ebola Epidemic.

Ebola is a viral disease with a fatality rate of 50%. Although there is no cure for the disease, awareness will be spread through Zu’s powerful visual and heart-felt lyrics kismet with African influences. The song encourages listeners to take a stand against this ferocious disease while giving assurance to the victims, letting them know that they are not alone. “Ebola is obviously something we all have to take as serious as possible, and I wanted to join the fight of raising awareness,” says Zu.

If victims of Ebola had any doubt about going through this alone, Zu has proven that support, unity, and helping your fellow man are the key components in quieting this disease. She is beyond passionate about fighting Ebola which quickly turned her to pen and paper to find solace as she put together “Ur Not Alone,” one of her most powerful pieces to date. Zu is no stranger to using her voice for humanitarianism as she was chosen to represent her nation to sing a tribute in honor of world hero, Nelson Mandela during a televised NBC Zambia broadcast. So to pen a song to bring awareness and support to those affected by Ebola was her reasonable service. “After speaking to some of my family and close friends in Africa,” she says, “I was inspired to do this project for those brave individuals fighting Ebola, and for those who have been subjected to a loss because of it.”

While listening to the melodic anthem, you can feel Zu’s dedication and genuine connection within the entire production. The creative team for “Ur Not Alone,” includes Zambian Producer, Francisco Zulo and T. Scorch. The video was directed by Zambian Director, Gaudens Zulu, and Ivben Taqiy as the visual art designer. The strong visuals, like the song, illustrates the innocence and fragility of life as seen through the eyes of a child, of nations, and evokes a beautiful message that ‘every breath of life is assured.’
