NCS Launches DC Equity Crowdfunding Meetup

WASHINGTON - Nov. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- This week, National Crowdfunding Services, LLC launched a Meetup Group focused on DC Equity Crowdfunding. "Meetup is the world's largest network of local groups." Their mission is to "revitalize local community and help people around the world self-organize. Meetup believes that people can change their personal world, or the whole world, by organizing themselves into groups that are powerful enough to make a difference."

We agree. Crowdfunding is "open source" financing. Individuals come together to support, via small donations or investments, a person, project or product. This technique is implemented using crowdfunding websites and social media tools. Equity c rowdfunding is “the practice of funding a project or venture by selling ownership stakes (equity) in a project or venture to a large number of people, typically via the Internet.” The video provides more information on equity crowdfunding.

Our new group is for anyone interested in equity or donations-based crowdfunding, existing or startup business financing. All interest levels are welcome. While we started this group to meet other crowdfunding enthusiasts, mainly in Washington, DC, it is open to people globally.

The DC Equity Crowdfunding Meetup will hold it's first meeting at 12 noon on November 12, 2014 at WeWork Wonder Bread, 641 S Street, NW, Washington, DC. Attending will be a Representative from DC Department of Insurance, Securities, and Banking (DISB), the Agency responsible for the new DC Equity Crowdfunding rule and regulation.
