Amazing Spaces® Storage Center and Area Residents raise over $5,000 for Shriners Hospital

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Nov. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- (Houston, Spring, and The Woodlands, TX) – Houston, Spring, the Medical Center and The Woodlands communities joined Amazing Spaces® Storage Centers to show how easily an individual can make a difference in a child’s life.   Every year, the Texas Self Storage Association raises money for the Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston during their “Starfish: Make a Difference” campaign.  Amazing Spaces Storage Centers has participated in this fundraising event for six years.  Over $500,000 has been raised for the Shriners Hospital For Children since the campaign’s inauguration in 2001.  Amazing Spaces is the only self-storage facility in the great city of Houston to participate in this worthy endeavor.

From September 1^st to October 31^st, 2014, Amazing Spaces asked customers, associates, friends, and families to donate to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Galveston.  In those six short weeks, the Amazing Spaces self-storage properties were able to raise $2,553.00.   To show appreciation to communities for their contributions, Amazing Spaces matched the total amount donated, bringing the 2014 fundraising total to $5,106.

“We are always so excited each year to help this magnificent charity that has been providing a wonderful service to children in our area since 1960”  said Kathy Tautenhahn, Vice President of Amazing Spaces.  Amazing Spaces has fundraised for this worthy charity since 2004, donating over $42,000 in total.

Shriners Hospitals for Children® is a health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing pediatric specialty care, innovative research, and outstanding teaching programs for medical professionals. Children up to age 18 with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate are eligible for care and receive all services in a family-centered environment, regardless of the patients’ ability to pay.
