November has a new name – Movember. Celebrate by going bowling

Nov. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- The internationally-recognized Movember Foundation is dedicated to “changing the face of men’s health.” It encourages men to grow a mustache during the 11th month of the year as a reminder that their health is important, not just to themselves but to their families. The more than 35 members of the South Eastern Michigan Bowling Centers Association agree – men should pay more attention to their health, and one way to keep healthy is to go bowling. Besides getting an annual checkup and being aware of a family history of serious diseases such as prostate cancer, men can benefit from regular exercise well into their senior years.

Just as growing a mustache doesn’t require a lot of pre-planning, bowling can be a “low maintenance” sport – with shoes and balls available right at the center.

So this Movember, men, start growing that ‘stache, think about your health, and go bowl a few games with your buds. It’s a great way to make sure you’ll be here for many Movembers to come.

You’ll find the nearest member center at www.sembca.com – the new online home of the Southern East Michigan Bowling Centers Association.

About the South Eastern Michigan Bowling Centers Association

The more than 35 bowling centers in Southeast Michigan, from Sterling Heights to South Lyon, are dedicated to raising awareness, promoting participation and enhancing the bowling experience for everyone. Joined together as SEMBCA, its members know that bowling is the only sport where everything required for participation – balls, pins, shoes and refreshments – is available onsite and year-round. For more than 50 years the members of SEMBCA have strived to reach out to the local community by providing charitable fund-raising opportunities, corporate employee involvement and wholesome family fun for all ages. Bowling can also be educational, with more than 20 million kids under 17 bowling each year and many going on to the 250 colleges and universities that offer bowling as a sport, with some even benefitting from the $6 million in college bowling scholarships.
