ATLANTA - Nov. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- To live, share, love, and finally lose is quite tragic; but how much more so if your ‘love’ is subject to sever mood swings, aggressive violent behavior, or is otherwise suicidal. How would you cope with this? Would you be able to withstand the emotional roller coaster?

Thousands of marriages and relationships endure such challenges; most however end in divorce or in the more traumatic cases, the relationship ends in death. Author, Lena Germaine Clark is one of the many individuals who endured living with a husband diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar behaviors. Most unfortunate are the days leading up to that tragic moment in their lives…violence, unnecessary aggressions, and finally suicide.

Working in corporate America, Lena Clark quit her job to help her husband care for the mentally ill. Clueless about the state of her husbands psyche. In new book entitled, An Amazing Mind, she details her life, the facts on mental illness, and how relationships can survive and overcome.

Excerpt from ‘An Amazing Mind’:

"There were times when we would go to the grocery store and he would wait for me in the car.  When it was time for me to leave, he would not be in the parking lot. Many times I had to wait outside with the children and a buggy full of groceries. It was so embarrassing. There were numerous times we would leave our business together on our way to pick the children up from school. While driving down the street, he would start yelling for no reason, he became very loud and irrate. I waited until he got off the exit and I got out of the car, walked to the nearest shopping area, and sat there for a while until I got myself together. I called my sister; no answer, so I called a cab. When I got home, he had picked up our children and was outside mowing the lawn as if nothing had happened.  Because my sister had received my message, she came over to our home.  Once there, she could tell something was wrong and insisted that my children and I go home with her and her husband. I told her I was okay, and that God never gave up on us, and I was not going to give up on my husband.

I guess many people would say I was in denial. All I can say is that I was so focused on my family and maintaining our business…"
