Mississauga Halton CCAC Strikes Gold

Nov. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Etobicoke, ON –The Mississauga Halton CCAC received a 2014 Quality Healthcare Workplace Award – Gold Level at the Ontario Hospital Association’s HealthAchieve Conference held in Toronto on November 4.

Caroline Brereton, CEO, Mississauga Halton CCAC says, “Receiving a gold award is a significant achievement and it attests to our commitment of providing outstanding care, every person, every day. Our staff participated in defining our CARE Values in action – Caring, Accountability, Respect and Excellence for which we are all held accountable.”

Launched in 2010, the Quality Healthcare Workplace Awards is a partnership of the Ontario Hospital Association and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care’s HealthForceOntario. The awards program recognizes organizational efforts to improve health care workplaces in ways that contribute to providers’ quality of work life and the quality of the care and services they deliver. The awards program has four levels - platinum, gold, silver and bronze.

Mississauga Halton’s award submission highlighted a number of initiatives including employee engagement surveys and temperature checks, breakfast roundtable with the CEO and staff, an employee recognition program, workplace health promotion including alternate work arrangements – job sharing and telework, comprehensive employee and family assistance program, E-learning, town halls, executive leadership development program and coaching, and a healthy workplace committee.

“We are thrilled to be recognized for our achievements that continue to advance how we deliver care to create an integrated health system that wraps care around our patients and families. We have a vital role to play within our health care system and we are making the necessary transformations to ensure we remain the lifeline for our patients and families in our community,” says Ms. Brereton.
