The Arch Bridge School at Wellspring Hires Two New Teachers

BETHLEHEM, Conn. - Nov. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Wellspring’s campus has come alive with the start of a new academic year. Arch Bridge School welcomes two new faces to teach students struggling with social and emotional issues.

Krystyna Smith has been hired as a Social Studies teacher and Ryan Guertin as a Physical Education and Health instructor.

Krystyna Smith teaches US History, Global Studies, 8th grade Social Studies, and Civics among students in the upper school. Krystyna is certified for Social Studies in Connecticut, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. She is also certified for teaching Theatre in New Hampshire.

Previously Krystyna was employed in the Special Education Department at Sanborn Regional High School in Kingston, New Hampshire. She studied Musical Theatre at Marymount Manhattan and earned her BA in Theatre and her MAT in Secondary Education from the University of New Hampshire.

Krystyna is a member of the Northeast Educational Theatre Association. Originally from the New Hampshire seacoast, Krystyna recently relocated to Southern Connecticut.

Ryan Guertin teaches Health at the upper school and Physical Education in both the upper and lower schools. He specializes in cooperative games, alternative fitness, and activities for life-long physical fitness. Ryan holds a BSED in Physical Education and Health and Wellness Studies, from Central Connecticut State University.

Ryan is certified in Connecticut to teach grades K-12. He was awarded a Community Service grant while studying at CCSU, for his work with TOPSoccer in West Hartford. He is currently active in P.A.L. Sports of Norwich, Connecticut as a pitching and fielding coach.

Previously, Ryan worked at the Norwich Free Academy’s Sachem Campus in Norwich as their Physical Education and Health Instructor.  While teaching in Norwich, he also coached boys Soccer and was the Freshman Baseball Coach. Ryan is originally from Norwich, Connecticut and currently resides in Cromwell.

“We are all so pleased about what a great start our new teachers are off to,” shared Arch Bridge School Director of Education, Ralph Scafariello. “Ryan and Krystyna have established rapport with our students and are working hard to make their subject matter come alive in their classrooms.”
