United Premier Soccer League Announce Santa Clarita Storm as New Team Member in Western Conference

TORRANCE, Calif. - Nov. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- November 5, 2014 – Torrance, CA – The United premier Soccer League announced today that the SC Storm (www.santaclaritastorm.com) have joined the UPSL and are officially a new team member of the Western Conference for the 2014/15 UPSL Season. The UPSL currently consists of two conferences covering Los Angeles County which includes Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire.

The UPSL runs a 2014 fall and winter schedule with playoffs that conclude in March, 2015. The Storm will join the L.A. Wolves, Santa Monica Sporting FC, Penmar LA FC, L.A. South Bay, So Cal Troop, Las Vegas High Rollers, and Del Rey City FC to make up the Western Conference. The Southeast Conference is made up of OC Crew, PSA Elite, Banning USA, OC Stars, Santa Ana Winds, Cal Dream, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, Garden Grove City FC, La Maquina, and Glory United.

Gary Brunner, CEO/President of SC Storm  stated, “Being the Santa Clarita Storm is one of the first Professionally run soccer teams in the Santa Clarita valley, we want to ensure the longevity of our club for the long term for our community, players and fans which is why we have become a member of the United Premier Soccer League. We have been a member of the USL & NPSL the past eight years but felt that the business model of the UPSL made better financial sense for us not to mention a more local league schedule with more games giving more exposer for our players. We have found the high level of local teams play in the UPSL and will give excellent competition and raise the quality of our game. With that being said, we are excited to be an active and current member of the UPSL and look forward to some exciting matches with some of the other great local UPSL teams. We look forward to the new challenges both on and off the field as the UPSL offers the perfect platform to launch the club back into the market in a up and coming local league.

The (UPSL) United Premier Soccer League was formed in 2011. The USPL currently operates 16 teams all in the Southwest with a projected 30 plus teams in 2015. With the addition of additional teams in the Southwest Region, the United Premier Soccer League is one of Southern California’s fastest growing men’s amateurs League.
