ASCO Numatics Announces 2014 Industrial Automation Engineering Scholarship Winners

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Nov. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- ASCO Numatics (http://www.asconumatics.com/), the world’s leading manufacturer of comprehensive fluid automation, flow control, and pneumatics solutions, announced the recipients of the 2014 ASCO Numatics Industrial Automation Engineering Scholarship.

The recipients, Nicholas Aerni of Taylor Mill, KY, a senior at The University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, and Kaitlyn A. Martin of Baytown, TX, a senior at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO; were each awarded a $5,000 scholarship from ASCO Numatics towards their Bachelor’s program degrees in electrical/computer engineering and mechanical engineering.

ASCO Numatics will further support the winners’ studies with an additional $1,000 grant to the engineering departments at each of their universities.

“These students represent the next-generation of the engineering industry,” said Robert W. We are very proud to support Mr. Aerni and Ms. Martin as they prepare for their future careers.”

ASCO Numatics announced the scholarship winners at PMMI’s annual Amazing Packaging Race at PACK EXPO 2014 in Chicago. The two students were guests at the Expo, courtesy of ASCO Numatics. Sponsored by ASCO Numatics, the Amazing Packaging Race is a fun and educational event that pits teams of packaging students, from programs around the country, against each other in a race to gather points by completing tasks at specific PACK EXPO booths. ASCO Numatics’ sponsorship of the race helps support the PMMI Education and Training Foundation, which provides scholarships to packaging students from PMMI partner schools.

The ASCO Numatics Industrial Automation Engineering Scholarship program, now in its seventh year, has awarded a total of $70,000 in merit-based scholarships to 14 students, based on their potential for leadership and for making a significant contribution to the industrial automation engineering profession, particularly as it relates to the application of fluid control and fluid power technologies.
