Urban League Of Westchester County To Convene A Forum On Community-Police Relations

A Meaningful Dialogue Between Community Members, Law Enforcement and Elected Officials

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - Nov. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- The Urban League of Westchester, in collaboration with Pace University Law School, will be holding a Community Relations Forum “Building Trust One Community At A Time”. This open dialogue will take place Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 8:30AM – 1:00PM at Pace University Law School (Moot Court) located at 78 N. Broadway, White Plains, NY.

In light of recent events across the country, tensions have increased between law enforcement and their communities. The goal of Building Trust One Community At A Time, is a platform to improve community safety and communications amongst the people who live in Westchester County and law enforcement that have sworn to serve and protect them and a commitment to upholding constitutional rights.

“This nation is hurting! This is Westchester’s chance to demonstrate what can be accomplished when everyone in the community work together. We are moving forward on the premise that no compromise or agreement has ever been made in silence”, says Sorraya Sampson, President, Urban League of Westchester.

Guest speakers for this forum will include Michael Skolnik, Civil Rights Leader, President of global media outlet GlobalGrind.com and Westchester resident; Tanya Hutchins, Multimedia Journalist and TV personality; Homicide Detective Ken Williams; Police Chief Chris McNerney Greenburgh; and Jimmy Bell, Professor at Jackson State University.
