Bixby Knolls Wedding Collective Launches with Plus Size Wedding Dress Fashion Show

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Nov. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- LONG BEACH, CA, November 4, 2014--The newly formed Bixby Knolls Wedding Collective, a group of local businesses that provide wedding related services, launched with their debut event, a plus size fashion show featuring the new 2014 Fall Wedding Dress collection from Allure Bridals on Friday, October 3rd at 7:30pm. The event, which took place during the popular First Friday artwalk, was free to attend.

Michelle Jouvence, owner of Lucy's Boudoir in Long Beach, stated, "The Bixby Knolls Wedding Collective is a membership organization that works to promote wedding related services within our neighborhood. We can make it easy for brides and grooms to find everything they need, and they can shop and support local businesses." The collective launched earlier in 2014 and has a website (http://www.bixbyknollsweddingcollective.com/) to provide more information.

Kate Braid of Hungry Dog Printing, another founding member, added, "Bixby Knolls is such a great neighborhood, and the collective will strive to raise awareness of each other’s products and services." Other wedding collective members include the Long Beach Petroleum Club, Salon Medusa, Strut Bridal Salon, and Elise's Tea Room. "We had been planning this event for months and were so excited for the official launch of our group," Braid added.

The Friday event featured a mini runway show of plus size wedding gowns from one of today's hottest wedding dress designers. The collection featured gowns with intricate lace details, low, plunging illusion backs with hand-beaded detail, and stunning, dramatic full skirts. Ann Campeau, co-owner of the area's only plus size wedding dress store, stated, "We're so excited to showcase the hottest bridal trends for 2015 brides in sizes that curvy girls can actually try on."

In addition, visitors met individually with the wedding collective vendors to learn more about their products and services while enjoying light appetizers and beverages.
