By: Quail Ridge Country Club Woulfe, who won the 2007 SOS and a Florida State Golf Association event at Quail Ridge as well as qualifying for several U.S. Senior Amateurs and a U.S. Mid-Amateur here, shot a bogey-free 68 Tuesday to take a two-shot lead in the Dale Morey Division (age 55-64). “I love playing here, obviously,” Woulfe said. “I like the layout and I like where they cut the holes today because they kept getting in the way of my ball. I played very good because it was tough out there with the (20-mph) wind.” The 64-year-old Woulfe, who has yet to shoot his age, leads by two shots over Jody Vasquez of Aledo, Texas. Seven players are tied for third place with 71s: Bob Kain of Gates Mills, Ohio; Bob Stephens of Indianapolis; The Society of Seniors is an elite organization for players 55 and older who have handicaps of 3 or less. The SOS Championship is the nation’s second-ranked event for senior amateurs, behind only the U.S. Senior Amateur. In the John Owens Division (65-74), Jim Anthony of Franklin, Ind., shot a 71 and leads by a shot over Allan Fugate of Louisville. Talk-show host Maury Povich is tied for 11th in the John Owens Division after a 76. He was one-under with five holes left, but had a couple of late double bogeys and two bogeys. In the Grand Masters Division (75 and older), Harry Cain (73) of Williamsburg, Va., leads by a shot over Bill Robischon (74) of Tequesta, Fla.
