Sharity Launches Innovative New Online Retailer

Shop looks from your favorite celebrities, stylists & fashion icons! Lea Michele, Kathryn Hahn, Cristina Ehrlich & Matthew McConaughey raise money and awareness for their favorite charities

LOS ANGELES - Nov. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Redefining fashion, Sharity announces the launch of the first fashion + philanthropy retailer. At Sharity.org—where every penny goes to charity—celebrities, stylists and charities collide on an inspirational, entertaining, philanthropic and shoppable platform.

Sharity gives celebrities a real voice for raising awareness and funds for non-profit organizations. With early supporters of the site—including Sharon Stone, Lea Michele and stylist Estee Stanley, Matthew McConaughey, Kathryn Hahn, Jeremy Piven, celebrity stylist Cristina Ehrlich, Patricia Arquette, and Peter Dinklage—Sharity directly connects shoppers with charitable communities and non-profits such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, YaLa-Young Leaders, just keep livin Foundation, GiveLove and The Humane Society of the United States, among others.

Customers will be able to shop everyday items from their favorite celebrity’s closet, along with bidding on one-of-a-kind rare items that will be available at auction. “Sharity is the perfect platform for celebrities to give back, while educating their fans on charities and causes that are important to them,” explains Sharity Co-Founder Lisa Ginsberg. “To maximize awareness and understanding, each celebrity and charity shares their voice through a page on the site dedicated and designed to educate and inspire further involvement,” adds Co-Founder Jamal Brown.

Sharity’s board of directors includes Stormy Simon, president of online shopping retailer Overstock.com, and Joe Sciarrotta, Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy & Mather Chicago, who both bring years of creative, branding, e-commerce and philanthropic experience to enhance Sharity’s growth. In addition to funds raised directly through Sharity.org sales, Overstock.com will provide a constant revenue stream by donating 5% to a charity of the celebrity’s choice from all purchases made on celebrity-curated pages on Overstock.com.
