NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Nov. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- The Launch of “Networking on The Row” started out as a simple Red Carpet networking event to bring together Writers, Producers and Music Industry Professionals to showcase local Nashville Musicians, celebrities, local VIP’s and have guest speakers.  As production on the 1st of a series of Quarterly events began, more and more of the Musicians involved have made this into a “Save Music Row” event.     “Save Music Row”….the phrase has been said over and over, but what is actually being saved?  History is going away as history is being made.  Can the buildings be refurbished and not torn down?  Can you rebuild the atmosphere, the camaraderie and good will? What direction is this movement going? All these questions will be answered in the next few events as many Nashville Songwriters, Producers, Musicians and others band together to help Save Music Row by Networking On The Row.

The goal of this 1st event is to network, listen to musicians showcase and collect signatures for the Historic Overlay Petition, which is the Petition to the City, State and Federal Government to enact the District Known as Music Row to become an actual Historic Neighborhood with Historic Protections.  With developers coming in, buying the old buildings and tearing them down for new construction, Nashville is quickly losing it’s history.   Save Music Row is not just about the buildings, it’s about the Music and the collaborative spirit behind the Music. The continuing events will have guest speakers to update us on the progress as well as to continue showcasing local musicians.

The Red Carpet will start at 3 p.m. and the event will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn Nashville/Vanderbilt (NashvilleVanderbilt.HGI.com) 1715 Broadway, Nashville TN 37203 overlooking the legendary Music Row.  The Hilton Garden Inn is graciously donating their Broadway Ballroom to help launch the Save Music Row’s first event.  The Hotel has been the Host of many of the Music Row events over the years and is the perfect location for this groundbreaking event to continue the tradition of musical celebrations in the heart of Midtown.

When asked about the event, the organizer, Jeannette Porrazzo said “This is not only a tribute to the networking style pre-internet - where people actually get to meet face to face, but Networking On the Row’s first goal is to bring the community together to help the Save Music Row movement.  By becoming involved with the Preservation Societies of Nashville we can unite and help each of them.  Our goal is to bring National attention to this cause.  The collaborative spirit of Nashville’s Music Industry is admired and respected from Los Angeles to New York and all over the world.  Keeping the Music Row is more than just real estate deal.  The unique way of doing business on Music Row hasn’t been reproduced anywhere else."

Although Music Row is not on the “Endangered” list yet, here is an article Published In the Tennessean on October 28th, 2014, on Nashville being proclaimed as "Endangered":

ABOUT SAVE MUSIC ROW:
By meeting quarterly in public and using the media and getting our law makers to help us take a stand and enact that music row get on the HISTORIC PRESERVATION/SOCIETY/ASSOCIATIONS list of historic neighbor hoods to stop the demolition.  MILLIONS of people, musicians and tourists flock to the MUSIC CITY and spend BILLIONS of dollars in Nashville’s economy because of MUSIC ROW! if music row leaves, the economy will suffer.   Between 16 & 17th Avenue South is the heart of Nashville's entertainment industry.  In this area, one will find the offices of numerous record labels, publishing houses, music licensing firms, recording studios, video production houses, along with other business who serve the music industry, as well as radio networks, and radio stations.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZER JEANNETTE PORRAZZO -  After attending College on a Music Scholarship to Austin Peay Tennessee State University from 2001 to 2003, Jeannette pursued Music and Film on the West Coast for 8 years.  Feeling unfulfilled, she returned to Tennessee in 2012, moving to Nashville to follow her dream.  After moving her Company’s office to Music Row in 2014, what started out as an idea to do a simple networking event to launch her Multi Media Company turned into being part of a movement.  Jeannette had several meetings with Nashville Songwriters and Executives, sharing their stories about Harland Howard, the Prolific and legendary songwriter’s Block Parties.  This lead to Porrazzo researching and speaking with Nashville Societies, and after in depth conversations with several organizations and fellow musicians, the motivation behind a simple Networking event grew into a greater cause,   Networking on the Row to help the Save Music Row movement.
