Mary Brooks, CFP®, Receives 2014 Woman of Distinction Award, Raymond James & Associates

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Nov. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Raymond James & Associates, Inc., and Integrē Wealth Management, a financial services group of Raymond James, are pleased to announce that Mary Brooks, CFP®, wealth management specialist, has been awarded the Raymond James Network for Women Advisors 2014 Woman of Distinction Award for the Western Division of Raymond James.

The San Francisco Bay Area-based professional is one of only eleven 2014 corporate recipients.

The Woman of Distinction Award is given annually to women advisors with Raymond James who are exceptional in both their professional and their personal contributions. The award recognizes successful female advisors within the firm who support the professional growth of other advisors and associates, and who are actively involved in their communities.

“The Woman of Distinction awards are given to those who inspire others,” says Nicole Spinelli, director of the Raymond James Network for Women Advisors, which provides resources and support to help advisors grow their businesses. “These women are dedicated to mentoring, coaching, and sharing their ideas and experiences with others, as well as making significant contributions to their communities. To qualify, nominees must have shown exceptional leadership by mentoring those around them and have a long history of community involvement that is beyond a financial commitment. Top management at Raymond James nominates the recipients, and the award is presented during the annual Women’s Symposium held in St. Petersburg, Florida. This year, the ceremony was held on October 9, 2014.

Brooks began her career in 1983 as a financial consultant with a prominent financial management and advisory firm, advancing to senior portfolio manager before establishing her own group, Integrē Wealth Management, at Raymond James in 2009. Integrē specializes in providing wealth management for senior executives and professionals and their families. The firm is a leader in sustainable and responsible investing with an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) focus, and proactively conducts research and analysis into companies that are influenced by these issues. Brooks travels throughout the United States speaking to female senior executives and professionals about owning their financial futures. Most recently, in May 2014, Brooks spoke to women leaders in New York City on preparing to “Expect the Unexpected.”

On a personal level, Brooks believes in contributing time and energy toward helping her community; this manifests itself in the many positions she has held over the years. They include founding member of the John Muir Hospital Women’s Philanthropic Circle, board member of the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce, co-chair of the popular annual Walnut Creek Chamber East Bay Women’s Conference, and co-chair of White Pony Express Free General Store, an organization that provides free food, clothing, toys, and books to families in need in Contra Costa County.
