COOPER CITY, Fla. - Nov. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Dancer’s Gallery, an established Dance Studio of 18 years, has made Cooper City their new home.  Previously at Miramar Square in the Kohl’s Plaza in Miramar, Florida and before that in West Pembroke Pines, Florida in the Publix shopping center on Pines Blvd and 184th Ave.  “Our passion for enhancing children’s lives with the arts has brought us here to Cooper City in a beautiful 10,000 square foot facility to better serve the needs of our students, parents and instructors”, says Christie Stark, dance studio owner.

Stark has an extensive background in dance education and opened Dancer’s Gallery in 1996 on the corner of Pines Blvd and 184th Ave, in Pembroke Pines, Florida.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Education and Inter-disciplinary Arts from Nova Southeastern University. In 1992 she received her certification as a dance teacher from the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters. Ms. Stark is also a member of the Professional Dance Teachers Association and the International Tap Association.

Children who participate in dance watch fewer hours of TV, participate in more community service and reported less boredom in school per a study by the National Assembly of State Art Agencies, Critical Evidence: How the ARTS Benefit Student Achievement.  “During my studies I found that incorporating the arts in children’s lives enhanced their performance in school and social functions.  This made me passionate about delivering the art of dance at a high level through Dancer’s Gallery”, says Stark.  At Dancer’s Gallery, many types of dance instruction are offered to include: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Pointe, Hip-Hop, Flamenco, Silks, Lyra, Circus Arts, Belly Dance, Afro-Caribbean, Contemporary and master classes.  To further the spectrum of their offerings, Musical Theatre, Voice Lessons, Piano Lessons, Performance Company and Competition Teams are also offered while hosting live performances in the Tri-County area’s only black box theatre within a dance studio.  A unique After School Program which includes 10 classes per week as well as pick up from local schools to the studio complete the full service which makes the studio unique in professional experience, variety and size.  There is no other facility like it in the South Florida region.

“I chose Cooper City as our new home based on location, size and room for growth,” says Stark.  “I want to continue to grow our offerings to the community by incorporating CAST – Career in the Arts School of Talent on the same campus as our signature studio, Dancer’s Gallery.”  CAST was founded by Stark in 2012.  CAST is an innovative private performing arts school that utilizes the Florida Virtual School for academics with a teacher on site to assist all students. In addition to the required academics for 6th – 12th grade, CAST offers an extensive variety of instruction in dance and musical theatre with master teachers from a wide range of backgrounds in the arts. “At CAST, our goal is to provide our students with the highest level of education in the arts, should they consider a career in this field. This also includes a solid foundation of the entertainment business, not necessarily covered by other performing arts schools. Our unique program will allow our students to learn a variety of performing arts while creating a performance based thesis project. Our school is geared towards middle and high school artists”, says Stark. All academic work is done virtually on the CAST campus with a professional’s assistance, when needed. Student’s progress will be monitored to make sure they keep the expected 3.5 grade point average.

Dancer’s Gallery is located in the Cooper City Commerce Center on Flamingo Road, just north of Stirling Road on the east side.  It is easily visible from the road and directly across the street from Archbishop McCarthy High School and St. Mark’s Catholic Church.  The front doors face west directly on Flamingo Road and the address is 12323 SW 55th St, Suite 1010, Cooper City, Florida.
