ROCKLEDGE, Fla. - Nov. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Carpal tunnel syndrome is an entrapment of the median nerve, which is the nerve that goes to the first three fingers.  The main symptom of CTS is numbness in the first 3 fingers. You also may have muscle atrophy and or weakness which could indicate a chronic carpal tunnel.

There are many different causes of CTS.  Women who are pregnant, overusing your hands, a fall or trauma, thyroid problems, and even diabetics can get CTS. Many patients get CTS due to their hand positioning at work or when sleeping.  You can wear a wrist splint at during the day and/or at night to prevent wrist flexion.

You must know if your CTS is coming from the wrist, elbow, neck, or a combination.  The majority of CTS patients respond to conservative treatment. You may want to find a Chiropractor that works on extremities to rule out any biomechanical problems. Do not ignore your symptoms and talk to your Doctor to treat your CTS as early as possible.
