Doctors Express Englewood Celebrates Medical Assistant Appreciation Week

Nov. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Englewood, Co -- Staff members at Doctors Express Englewood recently celebrated Medical Assistant Appreciation Week, as well as Medical Assistant Appreciation Day in order to show appreciation and support for their team of devoted medical assistants. Both Medical Assistant Appreciation Week and Medical Assistant Appreciation Day are annual events sponsored by the American Association of Medical Assistants, and take place during the third full week of October each year. This year's Medical Assistant Appreciation Day took place on Wednesday, October 22, 2014.

Doctors Express Englewood jumped at the opportunity to commemorate their assistants' efforts. "Our medical assistants are the bloodline to our practice. They spend the most time with the patient and really give everything they have into making a patient feel safe and well cared for in our center. They really do it all, and we believe it's important to celebrate them and all they do for us and our patients," explains Practice Administrator Alison Hare.

Doctors Express Englewood celebrated Medical Assistant Appreciation week by decorating the office with thank you signs, in addition to giving each medical assistant their own gift bag and personal thank you note. On Medical Assistant Appreciation Day, breakfast was bought for the entire medical assistant team. According to Hare, while the medical assistants are appreciative of the recognition given to them, they feel undeserving. "They all say they are just doing their job, but we think it's a job worth celebrating," says Hare.

Medical assistants play a vital role in all areas of the healthcare industry, including hospital emergency departments, physician offices, and urgent care facilities. The daily duties of medical assistant can vary.

"Medical assistants do everything from assisting the physician with procedures, to making splints for patients, starting IV's, or helping calm an upset child down," according to Hare.
