Formerly Homeless Veteran Featured in New Business Book

SALISBURY, N.C. - Nov. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Salisbury, NC, 11/1/2014. Not too long ago U.S. Army veteran Jinger Jarrett was homeless. Now she is being featured in a book detailing her success in building a business.

Titled "Here's How I Did It," Jarrett is one of 21 other authors and online business owners who contributed a chapter to explain how they built and grew their businesses to success. It was published by Stardom Books and has been downloaded over 10,000 times.

"I feel really honored to be included in this book," Jarrett said. "Just a few months ago I was homeless and working on getting back on my feet. After years of struggling with my depression while building my business, I just gave out. I couldn't do it anymore. My business failed, and I went to the local homeless shelter to ask for help. They connected me with the VA and the rest is history."

Jarrett got the help she needed through the Salisbury Veterans Affairs and Rowan Helping Ministries. The two organizations have partnered to help veterans get back on their feet after being homeless. Jarrett completed the program they created for her, and after three months, she was back in housing and working again.

"I got the skills I needed to deal with my depression and get back to 100 percent," she said. "It wasn't easy. I had a lot of case workers working with me, and although they were really nice, it could be hard dealing with so many people while do what I needed to do. I did it though. I was the first female veteran to graduate their program."

Jarrett is in housing  now and writing again. This book is the first of many projects she has planned for her writing. For her it is a fresh start back into the business world and to help her promote her business. It is available as a free download and will soon be available as a book.
