NEW YORK - Oct. 31, 2014 - PRLog -- On Thursday, October 16th, 2014, retailers, media and vendors joined together at New York’s Hotel Pennsylvania for the second Re-tails and Sales Pet Expo. Brought to you by Nancy Hassel of Long Island Pet Professionals and Dana Humphey of Whitegate PR, this event showcased vendors with natural and Made in the USA pet products.  Over 200 people from the New York City and surrounding areas attended to meet the makers of fabulous American-made pet products!

The duo held the first ever ‘Made in America’ pet product expo in February of this year in NYC with great success and this October’s expo was bigger and better than the first. From 2:00pm – 8:00pm, retailers traveled from as far as Michigan, Boston, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Long Island and event from Paraguay, to view and shop for ‘Made in USA’ natural products for their pet stores. Press and pet celebrities attended to mix, mingle and learn about these new and unique pet products on the market.

Pet celebrities joined the expo; like celebrity dog groomer, Jorge Bendersky and his well-known, adorable Pomeranian named Tito. Jill Rappaport, NBC Correspondent, Award-Winning Animal Advocate and Author was also in attendance, along with “Jill Rappaport's Pies For Paws” challenge!

"A heartfelt thank you to Dana Humphrey of Whitegate PR and Nancy Hassel of Long Island Pet Professionals for inviting me to be part of this years NYC Re-tails and Sales Pet Expo- featuring Made in the USA pet products! Oct. 16 - which also happens to be Feral Cat Awareness Day was the “purrfect’' date to get everyone PIE-ticipating in my Jill Rappaport’s Pies 4 Paws challenge, which benefited the NYC Mayor's Alliance Feral Cat Initiative!  Fifteen fun loving animal advocates were up for the sweet challenge, happily PIE-taking! While several pooches including my little rescue Rubie, watched with wagging tails hoping some of that creamy delight would land on their lips- no such luck!" Jill Rappaport.

"Island Dog Design so enjoyed participating in the All-American made, All-natural Re-Retail Pet Expo.  The visitors and buyers knew beforehand what types of quality products they would find, and thus were focused their questions and conversations.  We look forward to next year's event!" -Ileana Van der Linde, ISLAND DOG DESIGN -- beautiful and eco-friendly dog beds.

Attendees had the fun opportunity take a pie to their face in exchange for a donation to The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC Animals organization. Jill recently introduced this innovative challenge by taking a pie to her own face at an adoption event in order to raise awareness and funds for millions of animals in need of their forever home.

The 14th Annual National Feral Cat Day, which was created by the Alley Cat Allies, was celebrated on October 16th as well. Jill’s Pies for Paws challenge raised awareness and benefited feral cats on this special day. Learn more about the New York Feral Cat Initiative or to make a donation visit www.NYCFeralCat.org.

The pie challenge was a big hit! Attendees shared a lot of laughs and messy fun while raising funds for feral cats. Once again, this expo was the perfect opportunity for pet retailers to meet and network with makers of pet products manufacturer from across the country.  The next expo for 2015 is being planned and the date and location will be announced soon.
