Simplify360 research: Real estate can do way better on social media

An Indian internet user on an average spends about 16.9 minutes per visit on real estate sites per session,much higher compared to other BRIC countries but the Indian real estate industry does not seem to be utilizing the full potential.
 
BENGALURU, India - Oct. 31, 2014 - PRLog -- Vang Lian, Research Head at Simplify360 said "Social media is a new avenue for real estate industry. Real estate developers are not making the most out of it. With the ability to take things to the personal level, they need to find better ways to engage with potential customer".

The analysis revealed there have been 4.6K conversations around real estate in the last one month alone mostly on the controversial land deal between Vadra and real estate giant and JLL Investment Sale India’s Growing Real Estate Opportunity news. Kolte Patil Developers had the highest share of buzz with clear 30% share of voice, primarily because of the recently announced Q2FY15 revenue.  Omaxe contributed 17% of the buzz closely followed by DLF at 15%. Altogether the top three players were responsible for 60% of the buzz share.

Sobha Developers performed the best on Facebook with maximum number of fans (27%), followed by Raheja (18%), Wadhwa (13%) and Hiranandani (17%). Percentage engagement for Vijay Raja Group was the highest. Though the fans of Anant Raj, Sg Estate Ltd and Urban tree are less, they have good percentage of fans engaged.

No brand has yet exploited the potential of Twitter. Although there was no clear leader, yet Raheja Developers and Earth Infrastructure Ltd lead in the number of followers, while the mentions for CBRE were the highest.
