Ventura County Public Works Agency Gutter Filtration Project Completion

By: Ventura County Public Works

VENTURA, Calif. - Oct. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- The Ventura County's Board of Supervisors recently wrapped up construction of the Green Streets retrofit of the Government Center parking lots, a project started by the Ventura County Watershed Protection District (VCPWD) last spring.

VCPWD’s project replaced impermeable parking lot surfaces around key storm water run-off areas with pervious concrete, which will help eliminate contaminants that pollute storm water and enhance local groundwater recharge.

“The new permeable concrete mimics natural processes that treat and retain storm water runoff and remove significant amounts of pollutants before they enter the drains,” said Jeff Pratt, Director of Ventura County Public Works Agency.
