Author D.A. Thompson joins the fight against Alzheimer's

In recognition of Alzheimer's awareness month, author D.A. Thompson will donate the proceeds of his book sales to the Alzheimer's Association.

SAN DIEGO - Nov. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- November is Alzheimer's awareness month and author D.A. Thompson is ready to join the fight against this terrible disease. "Both of my grandmother's died as a result of Alzheimer's and I doubt it will be the last time my family experiences that pain," Mr. Thompson said, "I have seven brothers and sisters so the genetic odds of one of us having it is pretty high."

Mr. Thompson's first book, Battle for Grandma's House, is a tribute to his grandmothers. "I never got to go on an adventure with them," he said. "This is my way of doing that. I wanted to write a book series that grandparents, parents and children could read together."

For the month of November, Mr. Thompson will donate all proceeds from his book series to the Alzheimer's Association and other charities. Readers can purchase the Peter Pomperfield series from Amazon, Barnes and Noble and other major retailers. More information can be found by visiting www.peterpomperfield.weebly.com.

"I hope we find a cure for Alzheimer's," Mr. Thompson said. "But, in the meantime, we should appreciate the time we share with our families. There's a lot of action and excitement in my books, but that's the real message behind it. Family is the most important thing."
