IMS Orthopedics Physicians Dr. Khoury & Dr. Thongtrangan Receive Board Certifications

PHOENIX - Oct. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- ​Dr. Thongtrangan and Dr. Khoury recently received their board certifications in orthopaedics by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.Surgeons meeting the educational and organizational requirements necessary for certification through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery are distinguished orthopaedic surgeons who are active in patient care, education and research.  Certification by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery means that the orthopaedic surgeon has met the specified educational, evaluation, and examination requirements of the Board.

Dr. Christina Khoury graduated from the University of Michigan and completed her medical school training at Wayne State University in Detroit.  During residency training at Henry Ford Health System, Khoury was selected by her fellow residents and attending physicians to be one of the Chief Orthopedic residents during her final year.  She has specialized training in hip and knee replacement surgeries and hip preserving treatment in the young adult patient.

Dr. Issada Thongtrangan joined IMS Orthopedics after achieving the highest level of training in spine and back surgery with fellowships in both Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Spine Surgery.  During his fellowship at the world-renowned Stanford University Medical Center, he gained experience in complex spinal reconstruction, scoliosis, tumor and revision surgery for patients who have undergone previous spinal surgery without success.   His orthopedic spine fellowship was completed at the prestigious Texas Back Institute. Here, he had an opportunity to focus on minimally invasive techniques and artificial disc replacement. He’s also a fellowship trained in Adult Reconstruction and hip and knee replacement, and fellowship trained in Orthopedic Trauma at Medical College of Virginia.
