STAMFORD, Conn. - Oct. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- The public is invited to attend an Ambassadors’ Roundtable series dinner presentation by Professor Stent on “U.S. Russian Relations: Is This a New Cold War”. This event will take place at the Stamford Yacht Club on November 12, 2014.

Professor Stent is Director of the Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies and Professor of Government and Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She is also a Senior Fellow (non-resident) at the Brookings Institution and co-chairs its Hewett Forum on Post-Soviet Affairs. From 2004-2006 she served as National Intelligence Officer for Russia and Eurasia at the National Intelligence Council. From 1999 to 2001, she served in the Office of Policy Planning at the U.S. Department of State.

Stent’s academic work focuses on the triangular political and economic relationship among the United States, Russia and Europe. Her latest book is The Limits of Partnership: US-Russian Relations in the Twenty-First Century (Princeton University Press, 2014). She is a contributing editor to Survival and is on the editorial boards of the Journal of Cold War Studies, World Policy Journal and Internationale Politik.

She is also Senior Adviser to the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe and has served on the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council for Russia and Central Asia. Currently she is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Eurasia Foundation and of Supporters of Civil Society in Russia.

Dr. Stent received her B.A. from Cambridge University, her MSc. with distinction from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and her M.A. and PhD. from Harvard University.

The cost for the dinner and presentation is free for AR series members and $105 for the general public. The event will start at 6:15 P.M. with a cash bar.  Dinner will begin at 7 P.M. and will be followed by the presentation. Reservations and advance payment are required. Space is limited.
