Oct. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- The College of Business Administration’s EMBA students received the Silver Video Contest Award on Oct. 20 at the Executive MBA Council Conference for their compelling video showcasing Kent State’s EMBA program.

“This outstanding video was independently produced by Kent State EMBA students under the leadership of Paul Sakalas,” said Laurie Walker, executive programs director. “It is truly impressive that Paul and his team of fellow students took time from their busy work and academic schedules to film and produce such a creative and informative video.”

Students were encouraged to create a fresh, stimulating video to help promote the Executive MBA brand that did not exceed three minutes in length. The winners were chosen based on the following criteria: originality, creativity, overall impact and appeal.

The Council’s Board of Trustees reviewed the submissions and selected one gold winner and two silver winners. The videos focused on increased awareness and public understanding of Executive MBA programs, while highlighting program merits.

“We hoped that the video could be used as a recruiting tool for the university,” EMBA student Paul Sakalas said.

The video promoted the value of earning an MBA, why an Executive MBA is recommended and the uniqueness of the Executive MBA at Kent State University through the eyes of its students who are all working professionals.

“The class is filled with professionals that are passionate about the EMBA program,” Sakalas said. “Using a causal interview format, we were able to convey their stories in a natural and believable way. The overall effect helps tie the EMBA program to real people, with hopes of creating an emotional bond with the viewer.”
