Life in Costa Mesa under Katrina Foley and Jay Humphrey looks pretty great for families!

COSTA MESA, Calif. - Oct. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- In the current 2014 race for two seats available on the Costa City Council, two candidates stand-out above the rest as champions of family values and making Costa Mesa better for families -- they are candidates Katrina Foley and Jay Humphrey.

Both of these candidates are in favor of making sure effective educational opportunities are available to the children of the community.

Katrina Foley has a proven record of working with the community for over 15 years to make Costa Mesa Better for Families.  "In all my public service in Costa Mesa — through five years on the Planning Commission, six years on the City Council and nearly four years on the school board — this has been my goal, the bedrock of my decision-making," said Foley.

Jay Humphrey has been a resident of Costa Mesa since 1979 and has been active in the governance of the city, in one way or another, since the early 1980s. Humphrey is a graduate of UC San Diego. He and his wife, Sally, have two children and three grandchildren, so having effective educational programs and facilities available to the families of Costa Mesa is very important to him.

Costa Mesans for Responsible Government ( CM4RG ) has endorsed both Foley and Humphrey for Costa Mesa City Council. According to CM4RG President Robin Leffler, "both Katrina Foley and Jay Humphrey have proven ability to bring considerable experience to city government, and we look forward to seeing them on the City Council."

Foley, currently a trustee with the Newport-Mesa Unified School District, last served on the council from 2004 to 2010. She left after being elected to the school board. Foley accomplished a great deal for Costa Mesa and other schools in the district. Foley now feels she needs to return and serve once again on the Costa Mesa City Council as she fears the current path of the council is determental to families living in the community.

Humphrey served one term on the council from 1990 to 1994. Before running for council and also served as CM4RG treasurer. "I have watched with dismay as the council majority in Costa Mesa has taken us in a direction detrimental to the future of our city," stated Humphrey on the home page of his website.

Foley and Humphrey decided to work as a team in this election since their platforms and hopes for the future of the city are so much alike.  Every week-end the duo is out walking together and talking with residents across the city as both candidates are commitment to bringing back an effective city government to help restore an open, responsive, and accountable governance of the City of Costa Mesa.
