Detroit Manufacturing Systems Hosting November Job Fairs to Hire 200 People

DETROIT - Oct. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- DETROIT – Oct. 28, 2014 – Detroit Manufacturing Systems will host two job fairs at 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, and 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, to hire 200 people for assembly jobs in the next 90 days. Qualified candidates could start working as early as Monday, Dec. 1.

Both job fairs will be held at DMS, 12701 Southfield Rd., Building H, Detroit, Mich. 48223.

“We’re growing because of the exciting work we’re doing for our anchor customer, Ford Motor Company,” said Rosemary Brewer, DMS HR director. “And our 800 team members are part of history, building auto interiors for the 50th anniversary Ford Mustang and all-new, all- aluminum Ford F-150.”

Interested applicants should wear business attire, bring a resume and attend one of the two job fairs. All applicants will be asked to take a proficiency test in reading and math to be considered for a job at DMS. A high school diploma is not required for assembly work.

Men and women from all backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

The auto supplier will add personnel to support the assembly line for the all-aluminum F-150, which launches at the end of the year. Assembly jobs pay $11.00 an hour to start, plus benefits:

DMS, located on the west side of the city near I-96 and Southfield Road, will hire about 125 people in the next 30 days and an additional 75 by January 2015, training all new team members at its dedicated facility on its nearly 3-year-old campus.

DMS launched June 2012 and hired 700 employees in its first year of operation, and another 100 in its second year.
