Crowdfunding Campaign To Support American-Made Charcuterie

Charlito's Cocina Begins First Round Of Funding On RocketHub
 
QUEENS, N.Y. - Oct. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- QUEENS, New York October 27, 2014 -- Charlito's Cocina has launched a RocketHub campaign to preserve and promote local American-made charcuterie and support the build-out of a 10,000 square foot USDA approved manufacturing facility.

Based in Long Island City, NY, Charlito's Cocina uses pasture-raised, heritage-breed pork, hand-harvested fleur de sel, and time-honored curing techniques to produce a line of small batch, artisanal charcuterie. Specialties include Country-Style Salami, Mild Chorizo, Black Truffle Salami, Salami Picante, Beer Salami, and non-meat, vegan, Fig “Salami".

This local small business launched in 2011 and started selling in open markets around NYC. They are now distributed in over 200 specialty food destinations across the country including  Zabar’s & Eataly. Charlito's Cocina has received notable features as a Silver Award winner at the National Association of Specialty Food, a 2014 Good Food Award winner for their Cerveza Seca - Beer Salami, and a 2015 Good Food Award Finalist (winners TBD) for Salami Picante.

“Consumers have become more informed about what they eat and are seeking sustainable and humanely raised meats. We're growing our production as the demand for our product grows. Slow Food is fundamental to our collective health and well being!” said owner Charles Wekselbaum.
