By: Dallas Chamber Symphony The evening begins with some of Vaughan-Williams’ The solo will be followed by Charles Ives’ rarely performed, yet equally bucolic, Symphony No. 3, “The Camp Meeting.” To conclude the evening, the Chamber Symphony welcomes Kyle Orth, winner of the Dallas International Piano Competition 2014 as he performs Mozart’s beloved Piano Concert No. 20 in D Minor. After applying to the competition and participating in a highly selective preliminary audition round, Kyle was invited to travel to Dallas to participate in the final rounds of competition, which were held at Southern Methodist University in March. Kyle advanced through three live rounds of competition to win First Prize. A recent graduate of Texas Christian University, Kyle Orth has been hailed as a pianist of unusual virtuosity and artistic sensitivity by critics and audiences alike. Since his orchestral debut at the age of 15, he has soloed with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Symphony Orchestra, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Oaxaca (Mexico), the Richardson Symphony Orchestra, the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, the San Angelo Symphony Orchestra, and on several occasions with the Plano Symphony Orchestra. The concert will be held on Tuesday, November 18 at City Performance Hall (2520 Flora Street, Dallas, Texas 75201). It will begin at 8:00 p.m. Individual tickets are available for $19-$44 each.
