The Ballen Group Joins Forces With Team Kenzie To Support Candlelighters

Oct. 23, 2014 - PRLog -- The Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada supports families of children who have been diagnosed with cancer. Candlelighters is also involved in making sure kids with cancer and their families are receiving education through various programs, confidence through different services, as well as encouragement through difficult times. At this time there are almost 100 families who receive support monthly through the Candlelighter’s efforts. Nearly 600 families are helped throughout the year.

MaKenzie Lynn Hanover was diagnosed with cancer at the young age of 14, and despite radiation, chemotherapy, and other treatments, she died at the age of 15. Following her diagnosis, Team Kenzie was created by her family, in memory of MaKenzie. Makenzie’s family and some friends joined in MaKenzie’s name to provide support to the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada (CCCFN.)

Team Kenzie is very active in their support. This team first came together for the annual Candlelighters 5k run and 1 mile walk in 2010. In this first event, Team Kenzie was able to gather enough supporters, friends and family members that they surpassed the record of the largest team participating in a Candlelighters 5k event. There was a total of 238 Team Kenzie members at this 5k.

With the support of The Ballen Group, Team Kenzie operated a firework booth to raise money for Candlelighters. This firework fundraiser raised over $6,000 for kids with cancer and their families. The Ballen Group and Team Kenzie also joined forces for fundraisers at Fuddruckers in Summerlin where 10% of the burger sales went to support Candlelighters. The Ballen Group also supported Team Kenzie for a frozen yogurt night.

Now, in an effort to raise more money and awareness for Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada, Team Kenzie is making plaques for The Ballen Group to give their clients as a closing gift. This gift includes a $50 donation on the client’s behalf. The Ballen Group and Team Kenzie are thrilled to be able to raise awareness for a great cause.

The Ballen Group’s owners, Richard and Lori Ballen, frequently give to charity and have been recognized through various Keller Williams awards. Though the Ballens are not directly related to MaKenzie, they love joining with Team Kenzie to support the Candlelighters and their efforts to support children with cancer. This joining of forces with Team Kenzie gives The Ballen Group a huge opportunity to give back to the great community that they serve.

Several Team Kenzie events are located in Summerlin. Summerlin is a master planned community in the western part of Las Vegas. This community was planned by the Howard Hughes Corporation who has developed this area into a great community. The Ballen Group is a team of Summerlin real estate specialist who are also thrilled to be able to help Team Kenzie and support The Candle Lighters.

Today Team Kenzie has raised over $30,000 for kids with cancer. The Ballen Group is hoping to be able to help Team Kenzie raise much more money for children with cancer and their families. Donating on behalf of clients is just one way The Ballen Group is planning on helping Team Kenzie.
