Nashville Record Producer Robert Venable Rocks Music City

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Oct. 23, 2014 - PRLog -- In a city known for deep roots in the country music industry, there is one music producer in town who is arguably one of the best rock and pop engineers / producers out there.  Robert Venable, who co-owns Off The Wall Studios, a recording studio just south of Nashville, has credits ranging from Nashville rockers Framing Hanley, to metal gods Megadeth, all the way to Grammy-winning gospel artist Kim Burrell.  Venable doesn't dislike country music, not at all.  In fact, he has worked on several country projects, including mixing a Neal McCoy live dvd.  The record labels, management companies, and clients who send him work just happen to be rock and pop focused, something he is apparently succesful with.

"I love working with all types of music, but I just keep getting rock stuff, so I do rock stuff.  They'll send me a pop artist, so I'll produce a pop record.  I just got back from LA, where I was working with a Swiss pop singer on new tunes... I do what I'm told..." Venable chuckled.  "But, when they send me a country project, though few and far between, it's fun.  I put my flavor on it."

When asked what his "flavor" is, Venable explained it is what keeps him busy, how he makes a living, and has been able to, for the past 11 years.

"...big drums, catchy guitars, and something that grabs the listener by the ears and doesn't let go... melodies that make them hum..." he said.

Being present on social media networks is important to Venable, he stays active on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.  The reason?  He likes to help out and share what he is blessed to have experienced with his career.  He told us he enjoys interacting with people who are just learning, potentially helping them pick up a trick or two along the way.

Not only does Robert Venable engineer, mix, and produce songs for a living, he, along with his business partner/Kelly Clarkson drummer Lester Estelle Jr, have a drum sample library for sale: OTW Drums.  According to Venable, they spent days in the studio recording, editing, and compiling a large collection (over 4,000) of drum samples, and now sell them online at www.OTWdrums.com.

It sounds like it is all work and no play for Venable, but he enjoys what he does and says "it's not work when you enjoy it. I could be out there tarring roofs, flipping burgers, pushing papers across a desk, but that's not me.  I am creative and need an outlet to share, music does that for me.  I've been fortunate to do what I love for a living, and that's huge."
