Oct. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- Helping Michigan soldiers is the focus of the annual Holiday Open House at the Bavarian Inn (http://www.bavarianinn.com/) Restaurant Castle Shops, Frankenmuth Cheese Haus, Covered Bridge & Leather Gift Shop and select shops at Frankenmuth River Place on November 13.

Shoppers giving a cash donation to the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund (FWSF) will receive a 20 percent discount at participating locations. Bavarian Inn FWSF chairperson Kathy Walstad said the Fund’s mission is fully in the spirit of the Holiday Open House.

“Their goal is to support Michigan soldiers who have put their lives on the line to protect all of us,” Walstad explained. “Our goal is to aid the Fund in their efforts while providing our patrons a festive kickoff to the Holiday Season. It’s a time to celebrate, a time to enjoy family, a delicious meal and get a head start on shopping.”

Donating to the fund is not the only way shoppers can get the 20 percent discount. Food donations, which will go to a local food pantry, also earn the discount. “It’s a great way to stretch your holiday dollars,” said Walstad.

Shoppers should arrive early on Nov. 13 and start their day by making the cash or non-perishable food donation at any of the locations listed below. Shoppers will then receive a 20 percent discount card valid for use while shopping at the following locations and times:

·         Bavarian Inn Restaurant Castle Shops: 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. – Royal Gift Shop, Souvenirs & Cheers, Chocolate Shop, Candy Corner, Castle Shop Bakery, Doll & Toy Shop, Wine & Beer Shop
