Sarasota Named Newest Location for Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park

SARASOTA, Fla. - Oct. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park, creator of the world’s first all-walled trampoline playing court, announces its expansion into Sarasota with its newest location at 6180 Edgelake Drive, just off Bee Ridge Road. After two years of researching the Sky Zone brand, planning and reviewing market demographics, the owner of Sky Zone Sarasota, Paul Orsino, has invested almost $2 million into this project. “We took our kids to a Sky Zone in New York and they absolutely loved it,” says Orsino. “We chose the Sky Zone brand because they are the pioneers of this industry and they carry the patent.” The 30,000-square-foot facility is being built from the ground up by local construction company Starling Group and local agency, Grapevine Communications has been contracted for advertising and public relations initiatives. The location’s grand opening is scheduled for December 2014 and will add approximately 80-100 jobs to the area.

Orsino moved his wife and children to Sarasota from upstate New York earlier this year to open the franchise. With both sides of the family being from Sarasota, he and his wife jumped at the opportunity to get back in touch with their roots. “We see this as not only an investment for our family’s future but also as an investment for the community we now call home,” says Orsino. “We’ve enjoyed getting settled in Sarasota and will be seeking opportunities to get more involved as a family and as business owners.” Family roots aside, it was the market research that ultimately finalized Orsino’s decision on Sarasota as the prime location for this business venture. Orsino’s team looked at the local population within a 30 minute drive time radius of the Bee Ridge lot which showed almost 400 thousand residents, 28% of whom are in Orsino’s target age demographic. Orsino also states he puts great value in what he sees as an inherently active, health & fitness focused culture in Sarasota.

The main goal of any Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park is fun physical activity for everyone. The all-trampoline walled courts are designed to provide a wide array of low-impact activities. These include Open Jump, offering a court of connecting trampolines for free-style play; Ultimate Dodgeball, for a fresh new take on that favorite childhood pastime; and Sky Slam, which gives everyone the opportunity to slam dunk a basketball. Sky Zone Sarasota will also feature Foam Zone plus courts for Sky Zone’s innovative Open Jump, Ultimate Dodgeball, Sky Slam and SkyRobics activities. “Since our inception in 2004, Sky Zone continues to entertain, excite and evolve family entertainment while infusing active fun into a healthy lifestyle,” said Jeff Platt, President of Sky Zone, LLC. “As we expand in Sarasota, we are pleased to offer residents a new twist on recreational activities.”

Additionally, fitness fiends in Sarasota will be offered multiple types of fitness classes per week including Sky Zone's original SkyRobics class which combines advanced calisthenics with a three-dimensional cardio and strength training program; taking cardio to new heights. The one-hour fitness classes will be offered at $11.00 per class and are taught by trained fitness instructors. “Trampoline play really boosts the heart rate; a person can burn up to 1,000 calories per hour and you’re using muscles that are difficult to engage in traditional exercise,” says Orsino. Sky Zone Sarasota will also offer 10-class packs and monthly unlimited packages as well as personal training.  No membership contracts are required.

Sky Zone currently has 80 open locations with 19 additional parks projected to open by the end of 2014. The new Sarasota location will also serve as an ideal venue for groups seeking unique events, such as birthday parties, corporate team building, field trips and more.
