Follow on Google News | Governor Bill Haslam Proclaims 10th Annual Tennessee Week for the Animals Oct 25-November 2, 2014Animal shelters, non-profit organizations, and humane groups across the state will be hosting scores of special animal-related special events. Community leaders, students, and caring citizens across Tennessee will join in to celebrate the animals!
By: Animal World USA Throughout the week, educational institutions, animal shelters, rescue groups, and humane organizations across the state will be hosting scores of exciting animal-related special events. Educators, students, businesses and caring citizens across Tennessee will be joining in through exciting activities to celebrate and help animals. Events will include adoption fairs, spay/neuter low cost events, shelter days, R.E.A.D. dog programs in libraries, motorcycle ride benefit for the animals, University of Tennessee Veterinary School students and staff highlighting their animals, farm animals activities, book donations to libraries, 5k's, therapy dogs visiting prisons, horse and burro adoptions, special adoption fees, therapy dogs visiting hospitals and nursing homes. Also to be included are a salute to our working K9's, spotlight on search and rescue dogs, special adoption fees for cats, educational programs at sanctuaries, blessing for the animals, and fun-filled festival days for families to come and enjoy food, music and the always amazing animals!
