Mike Satterfield "The Gentleman Racer" to compete in Mexican Road Race in 2015

ONTARIO, Calif. - Oct. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Mike Satterfield has announced TheGentlemanRacer.com Racing Team will be taking part in the 2015 Rally Historico Transpeninsular with their 1962 Austin Healey Sprite Special. The Transpeninsular will cross over 1,000 miles across Baja, California over the course of three days. The core of the team is comprised of driver Mike Satterfield, Co-Driver AJ Anderson and Mechanic Roman Vanecek. The Rally Historico Transpeninsular is for pre-1973 historic race cars and is conducted on the infamous Mexico Route 1 taking drivers from Tijuana to Cabo San Lucas.

Satterfield also announced that a short film about the team, the race, and their attempt at class victory will be produced and has already been booked to debut at the AutoMoto International Film Festival in Monterey, California during the prestigious Monterey Car Week.  The film title is TBA is being directed and produced by an award winning automotive filmmaker.

"We don't want to give away too much just yet, we will be making a more formal announcement about the film and crew closer to the end of the year. We have a few details to work out, most of which we should have resolved by SEMA. More than one network has expressed interest in airing a version of the film as well" Satterfield said.

The car that the team will be competing with is a one of a kind 1962 Austin Healey Sprite that was originally constructed in Manhattan Beach in the early 60's and was raced in the Los Angeles area until sometime in the late 60's. Satterfield discovered the car hidden away in an airplane hanger in Southern California in 2012 and has been restoring the car back to its former racing glory. The car is being supported mechanically by Frank Monise Motors, a company with a rich history of racing British Sports Cars.

More details are expected to come be released during or shortly after the SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Michael and his Co-Driver will be there to meet with sponsors and promote the race and film.
