4th Annual CAN IT! Campaign Officially Underway

Food Drive Aims to Collect 1,500 Items for CCMI by November 20

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Oct. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- It is that time of year again when Pushing the Envelope, Inc. teams up with Community Cooperative Ministries, Inc. (CCMI), to help relieve hunger in Southwest Florida. This Thanksgiving seasonmarks the 4th Annual Can It! Campaign, with the goal of collecting 1,500 food items that can be donated to families in need before Thanksgiving.

Pushing the Envelope, Inc. will be collecting donations, including canned food and other non-perishable food items until 5 p.m. on Thursday November 20th. CCMI’s wish list includes items such as peanut butter and jelly, hamburger helper, canned tuna, chicken, ham and roast beef, tuna helper, chicken helper, macaroni and cheese, pasta and pasta sauce, etc. A complete list of food items are available on the CCMI website (http://www.ccmileecounty.com/CCMI_CMS/images/stories/pdfs/fooddrivewishlists.pdf) or at GetPushing.com/CAN-IT.

Items can be dropped off for donation at any one of the following locations:

CCMI serves Fort Myers and the greater Lee County area, including Bonita Springs, Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres, providing meals each month through their Soup Kitchen and Meals on Wheels programs. The nonprofit agency also educates 40 children in their Community Montessori Preschool, provides weekend backpacks full of food to more than 2,500 children each school year and oversees a mobile food pantry as well as an everyday choice marketplace.
