New Medical Oncologist Joins Jacksonville Cancer Treatment Network

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Oct. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Board Certified Medical Oncologist George Kim, M.D. has joined 21^st Century Oncology of Jacksonville, part of the nation’s leading provider of cancer care services across multiple modalities. Dr. Kim will now provide medical oncology services at the center.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Dr. Kim completed his internship and residency training at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital, ranked as the best overall hospital by U.S. News and World Report for 21 consecutive years. He furthered his education with a fellowship in medical oncology at the National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Health.

Dr. Kim has extensive research experience, including serving as the Principal Investigator for clinical trials studying the effectiveness of various treatments for gastrointestinal cancers. His previous appointments include serving as an Assistant Professor of Oncology at the Mayo Clinic and Research Consultant in the Cancer Biology Department at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School. He has published over three-dozen articles in peer-reviewed journals and written numerous book chapters in the Handbook of Clinical Oncology.
