Historic Holidays at the Boston Center for Adult Education

The BCAE Hosts Series of Historic Cooking Classes in Partnership with Massachusetts Historical Society

BOSTON - Oct. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- WHAT:      This season the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE), Boston’s award-winning adult education center, is once again offering an innovative, out-of-the-box series of culinary classes in partnership with the Massachusetts Historical Society. Known for its food and wine classes and high-caliber celebrity chefs, the BCAE and two of Boston’s most recognizable chefs, Will Gilson of Puritan & Company and Jason Bond of Bondir, will take a trip through the past as they explore Thanksgiving and Christmas through a historic culinary lens.  Each class pairs the chef with Peter Drummey of Mass. Historical Society who will review the rich traditions of each holiday as they cook up several courses exploring authentic, traditional cuisine of the holiday.

On November 17th, 2014 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM, the BCAE will welcome Will Gilson of Puritan & Company for “What the Pilgrims Really Ate That Thanksgiving.” No, that doesn’t include turkey. As chef Gilson and students cook up an authentic meal, Peter Drummey will delve into the real deal behind the first Thanksgiving dinner.

On December 9th, 2014 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM, Jason Bond will step into the BCAE’s kitchen for “A Colonial Christmas,” (https://owa2010.exchangecentral.net/OWA/redir.aspx?C=zncG...) a hands-on cooking class where chef Bond and students will explore a traditional Puritan feast as Peter Drummey explores the customs and traditions of the Puritans during Christmas in great detail.
